What’s New In The 860v9

It’s fall, and with it has come some updates to our favorite stability trainers. New in our stores from New Balance is the update to the run specialty exclusive 860, the v9.

Our friends at New Balance know better than to mess with a good thing. The 860 has been one of the most popular running shoes for years and for good reason. A consistent cushioning system anchored by the TRIFUSE midsole wrapped in a durable blown rubber outsole has proven hard to improve upon.

For this update, New Balance has paid special attention to the upper, adding engineered mesh with strategic zones of breathability. Fit has been improved with engineered textile through the quarter that helps lock the foot to the midsole.

In our test runs the improvements were noticeable. Staff who have used the 860 for years found it to be familiar in cushion, ground feel and weight with a more comfortable, breathable upper. The mid-foot upper improvements helped the shoe stay in place better where it tended to move against the foot in some places. The last has remained largely the same with the perfect amount of width through the middle.

Those who get nervous when their favorite shoe updates need not fear the 860v9. You can’t find these anywhere but at a run specialty store. Come try on a pair today!
